Marketing Without A Budget
If you are trying to build your business by marketing without a budget, read on, I have built my finance brokerage without spending anything on marketing and advertising (well, next to nothing).
My Marketing Background
I have worked in marketing for over 25 years, including time as a consultant advising all types of businesses. Starting out in marketing, for a high-street bank, I had the luxury of a marketing budget and the support of suppliers and agencies. Having tried different campaigns and approaches, I learned what worked and what didn’t. The great thing about working for a bank is that they send you on the best training courses, and they even paid for my MBA.
After leaving the bank I worked as a business and marketing consultant, again working with a budget to help businesses grow. I then partnered with a friend who was interested in entering the finance brokerage sector. As we didn’t have much money to spend on promotion, I set about using all the cheap and free methods of marketing I had previously encountered, to help grow the business. The brokerage now supports a comfortable lifestyle, and spends next to nothing on marketing and promotion.
Free Business Promotion
Following that experience, I have set up a site to share all the free marketing ideas that I have used, or come across. So far, I have written posts about how to get a free business logo, and a list of promotional ideas that anyone can use. Next, I am going to add an article about using Twitter networking groups to boost your new business pipeline.
